View, Start, and Complete Routes

After you Select a Vehicle or Trailer from the Samsara Driver App, you can view routes scheduled for the next 30 days and start any routes scheduled for the current day.

1. From the Samsara Driver App home screen, tap Routes.

   

2. If dispatch has assigned you or your vehicle a route, tap the route summary to review the stops and dispatch route notes. If your fleet permits driver selection of unassigned routes, tap Add route to view unassigned routes.

   

3. To view a route that has been assigned to you or your vehicle in the next 30 days, select the day you want to view.

   Note

   You cannot start a route for a future date.

4. Tap Start route to begin navigation.

5. Tap Start new route to confirm the start of the trip.

6. To submit a document for a stop, select the Stop from the route details and tap Submit new document or see Submit and View Documents for more information.

   You can only select document types that your administrator has created for you.

7. Tap Navigate to launch routing directions using the default application, such as Apple Maps or Google Maps, on your device.

   The app automatically detects a stop as Completed. If Samsara does not automatically capture the stop completion, you can manually initiate completion. For route logic and definitions, see Routes Overview.

Manually Complete a Stop

1. Tap the route stop name or address to view route stop details.

   

2. Tap the option you want to complete, Manually depart or Manually arrive.

   

3. Select the time and then tap Submit to confirm.

   Note

   Manual route completion requires that the arrival and departure times are submitted at the time of the event and cannot later be edited within the Driver App. If you need to make a change, your administrator can Manage Routes in the Samsara dashboard.
