Delete a Vehicle

To permanently remove all associated data from reports, including any dash cam data, you can delete the vehicle from the Samsara dashboard. Alternatively, if you want to preserve the data associated with the vehicle, you can follow the instructions to Deactivate a Vehicle Gateway (VG).

Warning

Vehicles with HOS data cannot be deleted.

To permanently remove a vehicle and its associated data from your organization:

1. From Fleet Overview ( ) > Assets > Vehicles, locate or search for the vehicle from the vehicle list.

2. On the vehicle row, select the more actions ( ••• ) menu > Settings.

   

3. At the bottom of the settings dialog, select Delete Vehicle.

   

   Note

   You cannot delete vehicles that have associated HOS data. The Delete Vehicle button is grayed out for vehicles that have associated HOS data.
