Troubleshoot Diagnostic Issues

To ensure the AG53 receives EBS braking data, confirm that the diagnostic port is enabled and verify that braking information is being reported in the Samsara dashboard.

Symptoms

• The Braking Performance Report is not available in the dashboard.

• The report shows “No Data” instead of braking scores.

• Diagnostic data is not being reported after installation.

Causes

The EBS CAN (diagnostic) port may not be enabled, preventing the AG53 from receiving braking data. Some trailers require activation via a diagnostic tool.

Solution

Enable the EBS diagnostic port using a compatible diagnostic tool, and verify braking data is received in the dashboard.

1. Navigate to the Braking Performance Report under the Maintenance section of the Samsara dashboard. Check if the trailer’s braking status has changed from No Data to Not Scored.

2. To generate braking data, complete a short trip with the trailer. This may trigger a braking event for logging.

3. If the Braking Performance Report is not visible, contact Samsara Support to confirm report availability for your account.

4. Check if the trailer’s EBS diagnostic (CAN) port is enabled. If not, use a diagnostic tool (e.g., Jaltest or a vendor-specific tool) to enable it.

5. If needed, work with your installer or partner to enable the port. Samsara does not provide or support diagnostic software for port enablement.
